How to remove the stuck battery from the Maglite LED XL50 flashlight?
Removing the leaked and corroded batteries from the Maglite LED XL 50 inside is an easy task. First, you have to manage the following pieces of equipment and then follow several steps.
Necessary types of equipment:
i) A chisel
ii) A corkscrew
iii) A wrench
iv) A newspaper
The process of removing the stuck battery from Maglite:
Step 01: Use a chisel to open the battery compartment
Sometimes the battery may be damaged, and its inside carbon may leak out. The specific amount of carbon sticks to the battery compartment, making it very hard to remove.
So, take a chisel and dig out the compartment. Thus, you will be able to take the carbon outside. Do not forget to lay out a newspaper on the table. When the battery and its residue fall on the table, they will not spread away.
Step 02: Make use of the corkscrew effect
This process can be better than the previous one. Take a coated screw and enter it into your flashlight inside through a piece of wood. If the damaged battery remains inside the flashlight, it will come out by sticking with the screw.
Step 03: Disassemble the flashlight
This task is the most appropriate one. The two previous tasks showed you the process of removing the old battery without disassembling the light.
Although taking all parts of the flashlight out takes more time, it will remove all the waste from the flashlight inside more efficiently. Remove all flashlight parts and jam them with metal inside the battery compartment.
Removing the battery stuck gives you access to attach a new battery to the flashlight again. But, you must check the flashlights’ overall condition before any battery replacement.
